Conservation work parties.

There are two conservation work parties each month.  The Shooters Hill Woodlands Work Party, which has been working closely with Greenwich Council since 1994.  This meets on the 2nd Saturday of the month.  We have also recently started a Weekday Work Party, which meets on the Friday following the other work party.

Both meet in the Oxleas Cafe at 10am, and generally continue working in the woods until about 1-2pm.

The work parties consist of volunteers of all ages and undertake a range of tasks, including - clearance of rhododendron and sycamore, dead-hedging construction, ditch clearing, pond renovation, holly reduction,  path maintenance etc.

You don't have to have any specialist knowledge or expertise - just enjoy a few hours working outdoors in our wonderful woodland.

New volunteers are always welcome - though you should be prepared to get a little grubby! Strong shoes or boots, and suitable clothing are adviseable.  Tools and gloves are provided.
